All About Red Bull BC One All Stars

The Red Bull BC One All Stars form a team of internationally renowned dancers. They represent the best of the best in the scene. Each of the nine crew members is an outstanding individual and brings a certain style, skill and move to the group—from hardcore powermoves to intricate footwork. Together they will showcase the art of B-Boying, teach and share their knowledge about Hip Hop culture and their incredible art form.
All of the nine B-Boys have participated in the Red Bull BC One, the world’s most important one-on-one B-Boy battle, for several years. “We are the future of this dance, so let’s pass it down to the next generation,” says Roxrite from Mexico, who holds the most Number 1 titles any B-Boy has ever had and is the Red Bull BC One Champion of 2011. Pelézinho from Brazil is the master of acrobatic and powerful moves and flips; his style includes elements of capoeira and samba.Cico, from Italy, represents Europe. He’s the “Prince of Power” and holds the world record in 1990’s where he rapidly spins in a one-armed handstand. Korean Hong 10 is the champion of the Red Bull BC One 2006, endurance and creativity are his strongest attributes. The champion of 2007, Ronnie from the USA, has been part of the Red Bull BC One for the past six years. He also came to fame winning the second season of “America’s Best Dance Crew” with Super Cr3w in 2008 on MTV.
The style of Zulu Nation member Taisuke from Japan is based on an array of foundation moves combined with power. French-Algerian B-BoyLilou is the only one winning the Red Bull BC One twice. He is the story telling dancer, his funny but polarizing character and style never fail to engage the audience.
In 2012, the crew welcomed two new members, 24-year-old Neguin from Brazil, Red Bull BC One Champion of 2010, with his unique, House infused, Capoeira inspired, energetic way of B-Boying, and 21 –year-oldLil G, incredible power-mover from Venezuela.
Their years of experience along with exceptional skills and their humble personalities, entitle the Red Bull BC One All Stars to become ambassadors of their culture. They have proven their mastery and now their main goal is giving back to the community by spreading the message of Hip Hop culture, where being creative, disciplined and respectful are the most important things: Each one teach one!
Starting this year however, the guys will not only share their knowledge, but will also start battling as a crew. We will be able to see them at several competitions where they will prove that the Red Bull BC One All Stars are a force to be reckoned with!

You go Boyz!!!

All About B-boy Pelezinho

Alex José Gomes Eduardo aka PELÉZINHO aka PELÉ was one of the big surprises of the RED BULL BC ONE in Berlin in 2005. Leaving South America for the first time, he straightaway came in fourth at the BC ONE in Berlin. The following year, he also made fourth place in Brazil. PELÉZINHO is one of the members of the RED BULL BC ONE ALL STARS!
PELÉZINHO shows the Brazilian “ginga” through a creative and powerful style. Ginga—an almost indefinable, mystical quality of movement and attitude possessed only by Brazilians and evident in everything they do. The way they walk, talk, dance and approach everything in their lives. Ginga is what gives Brazilian football players their fluidity and rhythm on the pitch and enables them to ‘Joga Bonito’ (Play Beautiful).
PELÉ’S style is acrobatic and powerful and very creative with deep roots in Brazilian culture. Including elements of capoeira and samba, he has a big variety of moves and tries to stay unpredictable. He surprises the audience with great combinations and suicidal moves. His battle strategy is flexible. Depending on his opponent, he might change his approach every second.
PELÉZINHO saw breaking in 1995 for the first time. He was walking the streets of his hometown, São José do Rio Preto, with his father when he saw B-Boys dancing on cardboard on a street corner. He was 13 years old and was mesmerized by what looked like magic to him. The following year he started to dance himself.
Apart from breaking, PELÉZINHO is into soccer and capoeira, like so many other Brazilian boys. He loves to travel and learn about different cultures and tries to absorb as much as he can when he’s abroad. PELÉZINHO got his name as a kid when he was playing soccer in the streets. He got so good at it, that people started to call him PELÉZINHO, which means little Pelé, after the Brazilian soccer legend. His biggest inspirations are B-Boy Remind from Style Elements and his beloved son who has inspired him ever since the day he was born.
PELÉZINHO sees his future in breaking and wants to go on working hard to establish a name in the international scene. He is a professional dancer, performing in videos, commercials, shows, and theatre performances and wants to dance for the rest of his life. He sees Storm from Germany as an example of how a B-Boy can structure his life around dance by doing workshops, lectures and shows in later years.
PELÉZINHO feels that he could have easily gotten into trouble including drugs and crime because of the environment he grew up in. Many of his childhood friends have already died or gone to prison. He feels that focusing on the dance helped him to stay out of trouble and make the right decisions in his life. His family agrees and that’s why they support him. His grandmother is his biggest fan.
For PELÉZINHO a good B-Boy is somebody who shows respect—respect to his family, his fellow B-Boys, the history of B-Boying and the dance itself. He puts great emphasize on breaking being a dance and not circus acrobatics. “Give respect and gain respect by being the best B-Boy you can!”

All About B-boy Roxrite

Omar O. Delgado Macias aka ROXRITE, was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and started dancing at the age of twelve. He is definitely the “hardest hitter” of the last years. He is a member of the new generation of the legendary US American crew “Renegades” from San Francisco.
For the past few years, ROXRITE has won many important battles and has a lifetime record of more than 60 first places, many of which were in 1 on 1 competitions! ROXRITE is one of the B-Boys portrayed in the movie TURN IT LOOSE and is represents RED BULL in the RED BULL BC ONE ALL STARS! With his vast variety of moves, repetition will never be an issue with this battle hardened West Coast B-Boy. ROXRITE has an almost unnatural ability to stick freeze combinations and he puts a unique twist on all his moves. He got his B-Boy name ROXRITE through his friend Ground Level in 1996, when he was a member of his first crew SUB 4. His friend thought that he always danced clean and as well as he could which meant he “rocked right.”
ROXRITE started breaking in 1995. When he was a little kid, he saw his older brother break in Mexico. In 1988, the family moved to the Bay Area in California. When ROXRITE went to junior high school, there were a lot of kids breaking. One day, the older kids did a show and ROXRITE and his friends were deeply impressed and they went home and started practicing immediately. ROXRITE was inspired, he felt it was something challenging that he needed to be a part of. They practiced every day without really knowing what they were doing at that time.
ROXRITE is a strategic battle B-Boy. He takes everything into consideration from footwork to powermoves to freezes. He has different strategies, depending on the situation—defensive or offensive. When he goes first, he immediately attacks in a very strong way so it’s hard for the opponent to respond. His main strategy is simply to do more than the other B-Boy does, in whatever field. The way you dress is important, too. “You’ve got to respect yourself as an artist and treat yourself that way!”
For ROXRITE being a good B-Boy comes from the heart and foremost means being a good person. As far as skills go, discipline is the tool! Ground Level was his first big inspiration, but Thunder, Remind, and Ken Swift have had a lot of influence on him, too. Apart from dancing, ROXRITE is interested in video editing and has started making little movies. He lives the life of a B-Boy and breaking has kept him focused through the ups and downs of his life. He embraces the whole culture of Hip Hop because he feels that Hip Hop teaches you how to live a positive life. He tried graffiti as well, but for now wants to focus on dancing and get to the top. He is dancing professionally, but admits that it is still hard to make a living as a B-Boy.
An exceptionally tough competitor, ROXRITE hurt his right elbow badly the day before he had to battle at the B1 Championships in Osaka, Japan in 2006. He competed doing most of his moves left handed and still won the battle! He still had problems with his right arm at the RED BULL BC ONE in Sao Paulo, so he went into the battle with the goal to be one of the first four. He won third place! In 2007 Roxrite had a chance to battle in the RED BULL BC ONE in South Africa again, where he lost to Ronnie in the finals.
ROXRITE is very exited and happy to be part of the RED BULL BC ONE. He says that from childhood on, many people dream of getting an opportunity like this. Kids playing football, dream of being part of a team and playing in a championship one day. “The RED BULL BC ONE is OUR championship. It’s our Super Bowl, our NBA Finals, and I am proud to be part of it and will do my best and go for gold!”

All About B-boy Neguin

Fabiano Carvalho Lopes aka NEGUIN from Brazil is the 2010 champion of the RED BULL BC ONE and a member of the Red Bull BC One All Stars. He impressed the judges and the audience with his amazing skills and strategies. The year before, in New York City, he had already made it to the semifinals.
NEGUIN started dancing at the age of 14 in the streets of Cascavel, Paraná, where he first witnessed Hip Hop culture in 1999. NEGUIN initially began dancing freestyle and social dances. It was not until 2003, that he took up B-Boying.
His approach to B-Boying is at once celebratory, psychological and aggressive. A very confident dancer, NEGUIN likes to look into his opponent’s eyes to communicate nonverbally that he’s going to win. He uses special strategies and tactics to outperform anyone he battles, using his own style, at every moment, in every battle. He wants his opponent to recognize that he’s battling a well rounded B-Boy.
NEGUIN describes his B-Boy style as involving death-defying jumps, blitz speed movement, unpredictability, clean execution of his arsenal and variations in each ground and power move, infused with flavor and high energy while keeping a constant rhythm. While NEGUIN takes physical risks, he pulls off his moves safely and effectively. He respects his fellow dancers and shares positive energy through his presence and craft. NEGUIN aims to have his audience experience joy, curiosity and surprise when watching him in a battle. He not only represents himself, he also dances for his crew and country. This is most important to him.
Skills and strategies have earned NEGUIN a vast collection of 1st place titles from notable competitions spanning from Argentina to Paraguay to Brazil. Among the highlights of his B-Boy career he lists battling in both 2007 and 2008 at the R-16 in Korea, O Duelo 2008 in Brazil, Coosh Crash Test 2008 in the USA, the Battle Of The Year 2008 in Brazil, Humanitarian Massy Battle 2009 in France, and the World B-Boy Classics in Holland. He appears on many B-Boy battle DVDs produced from these competitions as well as short movies and commercials produced in Brazil.
Dancers who have had profound influence on NEGUIN include Ken Swift, Rock Steady Crew, and K Mel. He admires K Mel because of his “free” style of dancing in every situation. B-Boy Ivan is one of NEGUIN’S greatest influences because of his style and constant energy.
NEGION eventually became a Capoiera instructor as well, but currently he makes a living on B-Boying. He used to work as a B-Boy teacher in a social project called “Arte nos Barrios” in São Paulo and gave dance workshops across Brazil. At the moment however, NEGUIN is living and working in New York and London, teaching B-Boy classes, judging battles and performing with a London Dance company in the celebrated show “Blaze.”
Among the many foundational elements of Hip Hop culture, NEGUIN delves into several including Aerosol Art, DJing and other styles of Street Dance.
Feeling blessed with support from his family as they offer positivity and encouragement, NEGUIN reveals, “They taught me about the good things in life: education, culture and always enjoying what I do.”
An avid follower of the RED BULL BC ONE since its inception, NEGUIN has always dreamed of battling in this competition himself. Observing the evolution of this battle, he was very inspired by the level of talent it drew. He is very appreciative of the fact that RED BULL developed such a great event for B-Boys worldwide. NEGUIN reflects, “I always hoped to be part of this one day. Now I am a Red Bull Champion and Red Bull BC One All Star! No doubt this is a great time in my life!
